| My digital work is structured around
my existing art, photos and designs. At once: new compositions,
but still a variation on, or parallel to, established
themes.
I bought my first studio computer in 1999. I needed
daytime access to email/Internet and to scan photography.
Out of need and curiosity we were soon doing or attempting
all forms of desktop publishing and design work.
At an exhibit of my art in Cologne, Germany, 2001 I
met a curator from Galerie Justine Lacroix of Marseilles,
France. In early 2002, impressed with my varied disciplines
the curator, Volker Krein, invited me to create work
for a touring digital art exhibit he was organizing.
That invitation really began the serious side to my
computer art experience.
The applications of the digital world are quickly evolving
in the infancy of their possibilities. I am amazed at
my personal developments in the medium as an ancillary
"part time" art form. When I see the breadth
of others new digital work I realize the unlimited potential.
